for your perfect home.
As you drive around Atlanta looking at homes and
areas remember we live in a city that the residents
can't drive in the rain. Why this magical event that
happens in Atlanta throws us for a loop I will never
know.
Rain following from the skies adds a tremendous
amount of time to everyones commute. You ask
yourself why if you have recently moved here. I have
lived here my entire life and I don't think anyone
knows the answer. In the Winter a mere forecast
of snow throws the native Atlantans in a panic.
I know the answer to that one.
Oops back to the original statement. I lived in NE
Atlanta and my wife and I moved to Lawrenceville.
Traffic was horrible especially when it rained. I worked
in Lawrenceville and my trip time increased by an
additional 30 minutes. My wife works in the City of
Atlanta and she had to add an additional 90 minutes to
her commute. We never did what I suggest to you to
make a test drive during the week from the area you
want to live in when it rains. My wife an I could have
moved four miles closer to the highway and it would
have saved us a ton of time.
I have lived in Atlanta my entire life. I have driven
on the snow maybe 15 times and it is not often
enough to understand what to do. The TV weather
man explains to turn your steering wheel in the
direction of the slide. Well, as good as that may
sound it doesn't make sense. So, I am sliding in my
vehicle. I turn the steering wheel and as I regain
control of my vehicle since my front wheels are
pointing towards the ditch or tree my vehicle and I
slid into it.
Snow and ice story for northerners. I looked out
the window and felt confident that I could make it
to the store one snowy day. It took me a
few minutes to get my car out of the garage and
then an hour later I had to abandon my vehicle in
my driveway. I was sliding towards the mail box.
My driveway is twenty feet long and fairly flat.
The best advice is those that can drive on the
snow and or ice to stay off the roads because
there are native Atlantans like myself out there.
We are trying to master the art of driving on snow.
